Reaching a personal goal for me is within grasp
I made a personal goal of walking 25 miles in a week. So far this week I have walked 17.2, burned 4,172 calories and I have a total of 42,093 steps.
My goal is to walk 11,000 steps a day. Yesterday on my way home after my work out at the gym i realized that I was short for my daily goal, so I stay a train station over and took the long way home. I reach my personal goal yesterday.
It might not be a big deal for some but for me it is amazing. 5 weeks ago I was taking the train to my station and then taking a bus to buy Popeye's chicken with a big soda. Now I am taking the long way home so i can make a personal goal of walking.
This sugery has change my life in so many ways. I am so happy with my decision.![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/biggrin2.gif)

Good for you! Thats the way you start off a good exercise program! - slowly but ever increasing the intensity,
One piece of advice - take that calories burned with a grain of salt. The only two ways of really getting an accurate estimate of caloric burn is through either V02 exchange or heart rate. The calories burned on pedometers are "best estimates" based on pace, etc.
Proud of you though for setting a goal and sticking to it!
