Beef Jerkey?

I don't know if I could make it without beef jerky. It is a life saver when I am traveling or out running errands with no good options for food. Most of what you buy that is packaged is fairly soft. Read the labels because some brands/types have more/less carbs and protein than others. For example, teryaki typically has more carbs than original. If you have room for carbs, eat what tastes best. I avoid the peppered jerky because the oils from the larger pieces of pepper don't sit well in my stomach, but everyone is different.

We have many places in Texas that make and sell their own jerky. I didn't eat that for the first 6 months because it tends to be drier. However, it also has less preservatives, so it is a trade off.
