Sip Size
Tiny, tiny sips that just sort of wet your mouth and lips and maybe don't require a swallowing. Warm liquids like broth also were so much better on my new tummy and throa****er was the hardest to get down for me so I stuck to jello and protein drinks and broth and decaf tea.

Listen to your body. If something is causing discomfort, and you have an alternative that does not cause as much discomfort, that is your body's way of telling you that it likes the second method better for some reason.
As long as those "bigger" sips are really sips and not gulps, you should be fine. If you're still unclear about the size of your sips, make sure you call your dr to verify. Better safe than sorry.

Have you tried this yet because I dont see how my camelbak would work without the straw?
My hospital sent me home with a ton of those little 1 oz measuring cups. I used them for like 2 hours and got sick of it. Do what feels comfortable. Your body will let you know... TRUST ME. LOL. I found after a couple of weeks I could drink normally and now I can chug a bottle of water just like before.
