I had surgery in April and I have lost 103 pounds as of today- 6 months out. I am hoping to lose about 60 more in the next 6 months and I will be satisfied.  I started at 349 and I now weigh 246. At my year mark I am praying to be 185. If I am less that is fine to but my goal is 185.

Almost 13 months out and have lost 140 pounds! I've gone from 300 to 160 and want to drop 10 more pounds. An exercise routine is paramount to maintaining ... I use Leslie Sansone's "Walk At Home" DVDs ... Her workouts totally rock! ... I couldn't even do a mile in the beginning but am now doing 5-6 miles, 6 days a week ... It IS possible! Best prices on her DVDs are on Amazon.com ... BE ENCOURAGED and take one day at a time ...

Keep the carbs low and stay away from the junk food and you will lose all your excess weight. Make sure to get all your 64 ounces of water in daily - sooo important. Take some good supplements including fish oil - proven to aid in weight loss and give your body much needed omega 3 fats. Take a good multivitamin and calcium citrate with magnesium. Remember protein, protein, protein. I pretty much stayed away from fruit until maintenance. I lost close to 180 which is pretty much all my excess weight. The last few pounds are trapped in all my excess skin which will be gone when I get my tummy tuck. My body likes the weight of 199 and has stopped there for a while now. Keep doing what your doing and let time do its thing. Good Luck - Shayne

I am 6 months out in a couple of days. I've lost 126 lbs so far! About 20 of that was pre op. Im going to post my before and 6 months soon. There is a before on my profile and one from 3 months ago. I started at over 300 which makes a big difference in how much I am able to lose.

Losses of over 100 lbs are very common. It took me about 7 months to lose the first 100 lbs. I've lost 179, though I'd like to get back up to about 174 lost as I'm a little too thin.

I believe in the honeymoon period, but I don't. To me, the honeymoon period is where you build new habits for life. It's never easier than immediately post-op to change your eating habits, which is why many of us get so concerned when we see folks cheating themselves by not following a good eating plan. But there's no reason you can't keep losing. I have kept losing since I hit my one year, even when I wanted to stop!

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012

I've lost 190 in 16 months. You can see my monthly (and weekly) numbers on m profile, but don't compare... it does slow down and I've been having some mental health issues this month so I've kind of allowed myself some leeway.

The good news is that I'm not gaining, which I SURELY would have otherwise. I'm just losing slow, but hey, I'm at 6 pounds for month 16 and I weight 184.5. I'll take that. I started at 375 and I'm female :)

I have I have!  So far over 140 lbs.  By the end I would like to lose a total of 200 lbs!  After the first 6 months it's more work, but it is still doable!  I think our issues are 1. we aren't burning as many calories just living (we aren't carrying all the extra weight...), 2. we can eat more than at the start - not a ton, but more, and 3. we start picking up bad habbits - snacking or slipping in "bad" food choices.

The best way to combat the 3 problems are - 1. move more, 2. measure and log, and 3. log everything!

You can do this!
