Anyone loose over 100lbs with the vsg?
Keep the carbs low and stay away from the junk food and you will lose all your excess weight. Make sure to get all your 64 ounces of water in daily - sooo important. Take some good supplements including fish oil - proven to aid in weight loss and give your body much needed omega 3 fats. Take a good multivitamin and calcium citrate with magnesium. Remember protein, protein, protein. I pretty much stayed away from fruit until maintenance. I lost close to 180 which is pretty much all my excess weight. The last few pounds are trapped in all my excess skin which will be gone when I get my tummy tuck. My body likes the weight of 199 and has stopped there for a while now. Keep doing what your doing and let time do its thing. Good Luck - Shayne
I believe in the honeymoon period, but I don't. To me, the honeymoon period is where you build new habits for life. It's never easier than immediately post-op to change your eating habits, which is why many of us get so concerned when we see folks cheating themselves by not following a good eating plan. But there's no reason you can't keep losing. I have kept losing since I hit my one year, even when I wanted to stop!
Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22
175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
The good news is that I'm not gaining, which I SURELY would have otherwise. I'm just losing slow, but hey, I'm at 6 pounds for month 16 and I weight 184.5. I'll take that. I started at 375 and I'm female :)
