Starting to get pretty thirsty. This "no water after midnight" thing is a little rough for an afternoon surgery...

I here ya!  I ask once how why midnight was the magic number no matter the time of surgery.  The told me it was just what they say as most people go to bed than and they don't want anything by mouth for 7-8 hours.  So, I made sure I got up that night at 4 and went the bathroom and had a BIG glass of water.  When I went in for surgery they asked if I drank after midnight and I told them yes.  They asked how long ago and I said 8 hours.  What do you know that was perfectly fine.  I know ask how many hours when they say midnight.

Good luck with your surgery.  Wishing you a safe and healthy surgery, recovery and weight loss journy

That is interesting.  I wonder if the surgeon noticed anything different?

The cut off is for the anesthetist.  they are happy with 8 hours as it doesn't  take that long for water to go thru.  Had trouble at that getting them a pee sample.  If I had gone before going to the hospital they wouldn't have got it.
