Since loosing all this weight and becoming a new Me, I refuse to live another day being unhappy as I did pre-surgery. So after surgery I left my job of 8 years and Im at my 2nd job since quitting. This job Im not happy at all and I went for a job interview this morning so please send some prayers up for me. This woman is looking for complete happiness and refuse to settle as I did before. Complete happiness in ALL aspects of my life, I deserve it daggit.

Thanks,

Hi Happy One,

Sending positive vibes your way with your job interview.

I agree; do not settle.  I feel I have settled most of my life & I finally took charge of things in the middle of my WL journey.  There's been so many bumps in the road but I have also experienced some great things along the way.  Our lives are what we make it.  I need to remember that myself.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Good luck! Are you changing careers or just companies?

I too decided to leave a job of twenty years by far the scariest thing I have ever done( scarier than surgery) but I refuse to live unhappy. I haven't found my dream job yet but I know it will happen.. good luck.

Just be careful. Wouldn't changing jobs very frequently be a red flag to prospective employers?

I am being careful with this, but I was unhappy for so long it really doesnt matter. Ive settled in my whole life and watched others succeed by "job hopping" which I dont plan on doing too much but searching for whats right for me is important.

Never willingly live unhappy if you have the ability to change it.  Never accept mediocre in your life.  Always strive for excellence but know when to embrace what you do have and try and improve your current situation rather than dump and run.

Change of any sort is intimidating but also some of the best results come from being out of our comfort zone.

Good luck for you and prayers sent for you!

Also, I'd be sure to have a list or something by which to determine what constitutes "complete happiness" in a job.  I have been very successful professionally, but I don't think I've ever had a job that brought me complete happiness.  I've also been married 30 years, and I can say that not every day of that was "complete happiness".  Just saying to figure out what the balance is between complete happiness and day-to-day reality!  Especially in this job market where someone who frequently changes jobs is sometimes not even considered during the interview process.
