I have seen some great weight loss pics and read some great stories. I am 376 lbs and my bmi is 63. I haven't read anyone's story that was this large?? I know everyone is different but I am just wondering if anyone that was this large is on here and if so, how much have you lost??

When I started losing weight (on the day of my first surgeon consult) I weighed 357, and my BMI was 54.3 apparently.  If I wasn't so tall my BMI would have been even higher.

I'm not quite three months postop, and I have lost 77 pounds all together, 59 since surgery.

There are plenty of people who have posted successful weight loss who started out at the higher numbers you and I have.  It's doable.  :)

My BMI was 61.3.  So far I'm down to 33.1 - not normal yet, but I will get there!  There are many of us big boys and girls on here lol!

To me you are a lightweight. I've lost 183 lbs so far and weigh about the same as you.

I asked myself the same question a few months ago when I first got on this site. At that time, I was 444 lbs with a BMI of about 63, thankfully I'm down about 63 lbs and into the BMI of the 50s due to the supervised diet. I'm trying to be as healthy as possible before surgery.

I hope to write my own story someday about being a "heavyweight" that has gotten to goal, but in the meantime...I'm going to keep reading the stories that are out there- they are very inspirational! I recommend checking the board often and checking the BMI over 50 board as well!!

If you click on "Forums" at the top, select the MORE button under "Weight Loss Related", you should see an option in the list that pops up that says "Body Mass Index Over 50 Forum"

This forum includes not only VSGers, but people that have had no surgery, RNY, DS, etc. Hope to see you there!
