Get off the scale!  Most people come home weighing more than when they went in because of all the IV fluid they pumped into you.  The scale is not your friend right now.  Wait a week or two, then you can start tracking - and then be prepared for your first stall.  kiss

When I came home from surgery I weighed more b/c of the IV fluids I had retained in the hospital. Your body is starting to adjust. You will be amazed over the next 2 weeks. If you plan to weigh daily than be prepared for a lot if fluctuation. I am an obsessive weigher (unfortunately) so I'm VERY aware of the trap and mind games a scale can play!!!

I plan to stick to my diet instructions and I WILL NOT WEIGH but one time per month.

The scale has always depressed me when I'm working so hard but no losing.  I usually gave up early because of the dang scale.  I'm not letting it win this time!

Yep.  I had gained 5 when I came home from surgery and it took me a week to lose that....it's fluids, it's okay.  Deep breath!  This too, shall pass, and then the scale will kinder to you.  Good luck!

You must permanently change your lifestyle if you want your weight loss to be permanent. You can do it!

Yes. I know it's beyond difficult to stay off the scale, but try to limit the frequency that you hop on it. Most people hit a stall in the first month and it can drive you crazy if you get on the scale every day. :)

i weigh myself every morning and enter it into fitness pal. after reading here and from my wls support group, i have learned to not get emotionally tied to the scale. it's important to me to weigh myself because in the past, i would fall off the wagon when i quit weighing myself. i just have a different perspective on it now. no depression or beating myself up since i know that mathematically, i will lose the weight. i dont put much stake in the tiny ups and downs an 'stalls', i just keep plugging along.
