Sleep apnea and overwhelmed...
First, I'm hoping to have surgery on June 10 also, so we might be surgery twins. :) I find out what my surgery date will be this coming week, as I meet with my surgeon again on the 16th.
Second, the CPAP machine isn't noisy at all. My husband says he hardly ever hears mine. I have loved the sleep and energy boost I've gotten from having used it for the past 2 months. I am hopeful that my sleep apnea will resolve itself once I lose a considerable amount of weight post-surgery. You will find that once you have gotten used to the mask, the quality of your sleep will improve drastically.
Best of luck with your titration study. Know that it will only help you in the long run.

I went on my cpap machine at the beginning of September. I had so many sleep problems prior to this that were affecting my productivity, my relationships, many things. Once I started getting a good nights sleep everything got so much better. I had surgery at the end of December and have been to the sleep doctor once since then. I had probably lost about 40-50 lbs when I was in there and I was now averaging only 1 episode a night of not breathing. I don't go back again until August but if I have stopped having bouts of not breathing, I may be able to come off the machine. It was definitely the thing to do! As far as noise, the machine is on my side of the bed and my husband does not hear it and neither do I. It takes a little getting use to but it didn't take long. There are many different kinds of masks. I have the nasal pillow mask and I like it but some people don't.
