Ahh...the Changes

For the first time in my adult life (and really, my entire life) I'm able to start making the outside match how the inside feels...and I've gone a little crazy...but I'm having FUN dammit! lol

Though I did it in steps, this weekend, I've basically done a Miley Cyrus haircut (shaved on back and sides, longer on top, and platinum on top), and had my nose pierced. Am I NUTS? My family keeps commenting on how different I am and how little they recognize me.

And I thought about it. In many ways, that 314lb woman I used to be has exited the planet. She has simply vanished...and a newer, stronger, more confident version of her is walking in her stead. It's a total mind **** (pardon my language) and sometimes, it hurts my head to think of it! 

Losing over 120lbs so far has given me an edge in my life. I feel more able to tackle the things I want to do.  Heck...I was in a boxing fitness class last week...the me of before could never have handled the physical or emotional strain so that before.

I've said it a thousand times, and I'll say it again...most days, I am grateful to tears for what the VSG has done for me. 

The other day, I told a friend that this surgery allowed me to reclaim my life. Then I paused for a moment and corrected myself; this surgery allowed me to finally BUILD a life for myself.

I feel the same way, like me that was inside me has emerged...

I miss my nose ring!  It was my favorite piercing.  I'm sure you look adorable.  I'm having a mad desire to go blond.  I've been a bottle brunette for so long, but I'm naturally pretty fair haired and I'm just itching to go lighter. 

I can't wait for the photos!  Congrats on your success and building your life! 

Please post those pics when you can!   I am pre-op, but have promised myself blond hair in the future.   No nose ring, though -- I am too old for that!  LOL  Sounds like you are doing GREAT!!!
