How long did it take everyone to get their surgery date after finishing all of the requirements for insurance?  I have two more nutrionists appt. and should be done by Sept. 16h.  Then the waiting game beings!

It took me almost 2 weeks, but that was because there was paperwork missing.  Once they received the correct paperwork it took about 3 business days.

I sent pre approval papers in May. Had my consultation in June and received my surgery date the same day of the consultation~~surgery date July 22. Between the consultation and surgery, I completed my psych and NUT visits with all of my lab work and tests. I even had time to spend a week on vacation. I think the pre approval was the best way for my experience as I knew there was going to be a surgery ASAP.

Just remember that each insurance company works differently also.  A lot of them have up to 14 business days to approve and some take that long and others do it right away.  Hopefully yours will go quickly!  We are making room for you on the losers bench.

My surgeon scheduled the surgery before the insurance paper work was submitted.  I had a major insurer so they were probably pretty familiar with the process and timing working with them.  The insurance ok came through in about a week, and I had surgery about a week later.  So it happened pretty fast.  It was 3.5 months from my initial evaluation until I had the sleeve done. And that included a 3 month pre-op diet.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.  I hope it is as easy and rewarding as mine has been.

best wishes,

Carol

It depends on how long your insurance takes to approve you.  I could have had my date the day of my first consult if I had been ready, but I waited.  I was approved in a week by my insurance, and I set my date for July in May at my second consult.

Good luck!  I hope you get your date soon.

I set my surgery date two weeks before the insurance company would approve it.

I had approval in less than 24 hours!  When I saw the surgeon's phone number pop up on caller ID, I thought they were calling to tell me they needed more tests or something.  Boy was I shocked; especially when they said they had an available surgery only 8 days away!  I passed on that date, however, and choose to schedule a couple weeks out since I wanted time to discuss with my family.

I hope your approval goes as smoothly as mine.
