Boy, I tell ya!  I'm sure I'm going to see even more changes and weird occurrences to my body before it's all over.  It does not matter how much lotion and oil I use to moisturize my skin, I cannot get rid of the scales. I look like I've been stomping in flour, my skin is so dry and ashy.  LOL  On someone as dark as I am that's not really cute.... not cute at all.  LOL

Ever since surgery my skin has been sooooo dry.  I thought it was due to the HibiCleanse bacterial soap I was instructed to use the day of surgery.  But noooo.... it's been almost 4 weeks.  In a minute, I'm going to the store and purchase some Crisco and see if I can't grease myself down to get rid of this dry, flaky skin.  LOL  Just kidding, but I'm becoming a little desperate here for a remedy to the ash syndrome.  LOL

How is your water intake?  Are you able to stay hydrated?

I have always had dry skin so the minute I am done in the shower I pat myself dry and rub baby oil all over myself.

You know... I believe that's it.  I will admit, I have not been drinking my required dosage of liquids, so I'm doing full liquids this weekend to get my fluid intake up and hydrate.  Today, I looked down at my skin and it's gotten worse.  I use olive oil on my skin because its organic and soaks in unlike, synthetic oils which sit on top of the skin, but the oil has not helped in the least bit, so its water hydration time.

I haven't tried it yet, but understand that coconut oil works really well.

I used to have very dry skin from some medications I had to take. Didn't matter how much I hydrated I ended up with dry, flaky skin. My PCP recommended I use  coconut oil. I had tried other lotions and oils. The coconut oil worked within 24 hours. It is the only thing I use now to moisturize my skin.

My dietitian recommended Coromega omega3 immediately post-op for my skin dryness. Taste isn't too bad. I've only used the orange flavor. Ordered online from Amazon.

I do not recall where I read it but I read an article that praised lemon in your water for wrinkles. Not sure if that would help but I tried it and it seems like it's helping but I have to say, I'm also working on getting in more fluids as well. Good luck!

The same thing happened to me post op. As soon as I was able to get more water in, it got loads better.
