Hello Fellow VSG'ers -

I've been doing extremely well staying under my calories and away from carbs since the 11th, but today I went to subway and ordered a chopped turkey salad ****burg lettuce, extra onion, green peppers, black olives and banana pepper).  I did get extra turkey and NO CHEESE, but without realizing it I got the sweet onion dressing.  So, I plugged the chopped turkey salad in myfitness pal and it read 16g of carbs (that didn't include the dressing) how could this be?  I know that there are few amounts of carbs in the veggies, but 16g of carbs - doesn't that sound extreme?  What are your thoughts?

Maybe the MFP entries do include dressing?  Maybe the MFP entries include the ham?

Didn't know Subway did a chopped salad!  well, it has been quite a while since I've been to one...I should check that out...

but I would check subways own site for the nutritional info, to be sure...

Yes they will chop any salad you make.

Im sure the carb count is right. Veggies do have carbs! Now you can subtract the fiber cause they also do have that. While losing I counted all carbs not just net. I have to log before I eat. I hate suprises like that. I also look at the menu before I go. I was a nutty low carber so 16 would almost be my entire day. I have looked at their menu and cant find much that works for me. Next time just log before or look at the menu online. Best of luck!!

I normally do check before going, but the MFP site was down earlier and for some strange reason the subway site was acting up.  I figured that I be safe with the veggies I chose, but oh well what's done is done.  I still feel confident in my choice because the salad is like 3 or 4 meals for me, I skipped cheese, got extra meat for extra protein.

This afternoon was tough without mfp for sure! I love it and I swear...never would have lost the weight (200 lbs) without it. I dont think the salad was a bad choice at all. Your a cheap date for sure with several meals from one salad!
