Stalls - are they just weight?

I've got a question about the dreaded stall - for people who have scales which show body fat and BMI as well as pounds, did the other numbers still go down even if weight wasn't moving?  Or did all the numbers stall?

Not always but usually I would see my body fat % change when the scale would stop moving.  Different people have different definitions of a stall.  I would not consider yourself in a stall unless it has been more than 3-4 weeks without the scale moving down.  Otherwise it is just your body adjusting to the changes going on, it will move, just keep doing what you are suppose to be doing.  Every time I would have a good loss for a week, then my body would stop for a few days and then drop again.  Kind of like a staircase.  At this point in my weight loss, I think it is more important to get my body fat down than it is to get the pounds down.

Thanks!  One of the things I've got on my "WLS Promises" list is "don't freak out until it's been a month."  Heh.  I'm not worried about stalls, since I realize they're a fact of life, I just woke up this morning wondering if they were limited to pounds and not the other numbers. :)

Yes, absolutely, but I didn't realize it until later.

It happened around the two month mark and my weight froze for four weeks.  It probably started as a typical stall, but a week or so into that I dropped my BP meds, one of which contained a diuretic.  When I looked back at things later I noticed my BF% dropped 5% during the time when my weight didn't drop any.

Prior to that I probably wasn't really watching that much and focused on weight like everyone else.  I learned to take BF% more seriously after that.

Thanks!  This is reassuring!  I woke up this morning thinking, "Huh, I wonder if the other numbers move during a stall and maybe people without high-tech scales don't notice that."
