Increased the exercise, now hungry all the time
This is my first real challenge since surgery.
I've been walking for exercise five or six times per week. Last week, at 10-weeks post op, I changed to a gym routine of 40-mins cardio plus adding in a weights program. Now I'm hungry all the time! I've not had hunger since surgery and I'm very disappointed that it's back.
I tried adding in one additional protein shake daily but that didn't help. I can't figure out if this is just an adjustment period or if I should change my diet in some way. Daily, I consume 700-800 cals and under 40 carbs. Vits and water are are consistently good.
I'm 99.9% sure this is not acid and I take a PPI. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I feel I'm going to crack under this constant hunger.

How much water are you getting? Are you filling all your time between meals with water consumption? Are you north of 100 ounces a day?
I ask because I exercise a lot, and I get the exact opposite reaction. The endorphin kick from exercise cuts off all need for food. If I left eating to "how hungry I feel" after exercise, I wouldn't eat anything. Of course later I'd be starving so I follow my usual eating regiment now matter water.
However, I do easily get nearly 150 ounces a water daily between meals. So I wonder if that's a difference here.

150 oz WOW, impressive. I get 85-100 oz.
Makes sense though, more exercise, more water. I'll definitely up the water.
Thanks
I would love to be off shakes but at 11 weeks out I'm still adjusting to a fuller diet. I do get lean meat in but not enough to meet minimum levels without shakes.
Thanks for the reply though. :)
So a couple of things. Make sure you just do not have increased acid. When I exercise even now my stomach acid skyrockets almost to the point of vomiting if I do not take a PPI before hand. Take your PPI/antacid about an hour before you exercise. Also change your eating strategy so that you get a protein shake 30-60 mins before you exercise and then and within an hour after exercise eat another high protein snack (another shake, some eggs, deli meat, almonds). Also make sure you are not eating low fat now that you have increased your exercise. You will want the dietary fats for fuel.
Make sure you are getting 100+ oz of water too.
