More out of breath since surgery?

I am 8 days out from surgery. I find I get a bit winded from simple things - going upstairs, even emptying the dishwasher. And my arms feel like lead when I do my hair... Is this part of normal recovery or just getting used to lower calories?

It did happen to me also for about a week or 2 after surgery. I belive its normal after surgery, but lets see what others say when they chime in. For me, it went away after the second week.

I think it's fairly common.  After my surgery I had to do respiratory therapy with one of those little simple plastic contractions.  That really helped me breath better.

You just had major surgery.  Your body is healing.  All your energy is being used to heal your body.

This is normal and to be expected.  Rest, relax and let yourself heal.

Yes, I had that and was told by my doctor's office it's from dehydration, so you'll need to get in a lot more water.

It is very normal. I am 3 1/2 weeks out from surgery and down 24.4 lbs. I was very winded and my arms were very heavy for the first 1-2 weeks. Hang in there it does get better.
