How long did it take to get off the pain meds. I'm a week out and still taking every 4-6 he's around the clock should I be able to go longer. Not sure what is normal

I had them stop the pain pump in the hospital as it was causing the nausea.  They gave me oral once the first day and the next day before my ride home.  I took them at home every 8 hours the first day and than only at night for 3/4 more.

You should always get off as soon as comfortable for you.  You don't want to go to let it go to long and be in bad pain though.  The cause constipation and addiction so the sooner the better.

I only took mine for the first 2-3 days post-op, but everyone is different.  Try spreading out your doses and see how you feel.

I'd also be careful because pain meds will make you constipated

It is. Normal to need pain meds every 4-6 hrs at a week out. As time goes by you will need it less and less. Gl

As said above everyone is different I took mine for 3 days after I got home...  don't let your self be in pain but what if you did it every 5 to 7 hrs and then try a bit more see how it works ...nifty your in pain then keep taking them!!! :-)
