It's on my list from my nutritionist. I've had some as a Snack With no problem.

It wasn't on my list until 6 weeks when I started solids. I would check with your nutritionist. Even the first time I had peanut butter 2 months out it got stuck and made me very nauseated. I still don't like it much it just sits above my stomach like a rock. Could just be me though!

Peanut butter is not on my eating plan because of the high fat content. However I make my own peanut butter with PB2 powder and it tastes awesome! This is one of my go to's since I started in the puréed stage.

If you love it, might I suggest the PB2 brand. low fat, low calories and low sugar. Plus it taste great. Add a bit to sugar free pudding, shakes you name it. I like the PB2 with chocolate. Best of luck.

Early on I would add PB2 to my protein shakes, but I didn't try regular peanut butter until probably 4-5 months post op. Even at that point, it made me feel like I had swallowed cement. That said, peanut butter is not horrible, it's good fats, good protein, but it is a LOT of calories and fat and really just not worth it unless you're in a real pinch. I'd go PB2 all the way.

I think it may be a bit thick in the puree stage, harder to digest. I'd suggest waiting.

Some commented on fat content, etc. This is true, but a great alternative is almond butter. I buy it fresh ground at Sprouts. The fat in almost butter is great for your joints.

PB2 is the bomb!  It's something I think anyone having WLS should have in their pantry.......

It can get stuck going down. Also it is really high in fat and not that high in protein.I just know for me it is a major trigger food.

Peanut Butter = Crack.   Stay away from it as long as you can....
