New Girl Here
Hello everyone my name is Samantha I am 24 years old and am having my VSG surgery on Oct. 6th this year. I am so excited!! I am also new to this whole blogging and forums and any advice would be great. I don't want to be one of those annoying people lol. Anyways so I joined because I know a lot of people on the You Tube videos I have been watching for months told me about this site so I joined since I finally had a surgery date. I am needing a place where I can talk to people and even meet people who are going through or already went through the process and I am looking to learn things that maybe you wished you would have known before surgery. At this point I could use all the help I can get with my surgery months away. Is there anyone who juggled a full time job, school and surgery? How did it work for you? I am also looking to meet more people around my age who had surgery cause it would be nice to see that I am not the youngest girl who is undergoing surgery.
Thanks Everyone,
Sam

Lol realized I posted wrong. Your only like a week or so before me is what I meant to say have you decided what protein your gonna do? And we should keep in touch since our surgeries will be kinda close together. Could always use someone to talk to about all this besides my boyfriend lol. When do u start your liquid diet?
Hi Samantha,
i just got my sleeve on August 18th, so I'm exactly 10 days post-op. I am a single mother of 2 girls, I am in school full time and work full time as well. Needless to say it has been a challenge. Obviously I am off work for a while but will be going back very soon. Luckily I have an amazing support system. I would have never made it without my mom and my brother. At this point the best advice I can give you is learn to love water if you don't already and start trying different protein. The brand that I think tastes best is Unjury. The chocolate is good and the chicken soup is pretty good too. Good luck to you! You will do great!
I had to do a liquid diet 5 days before surgery which was really hard for me! I am still currently on liquids but I can start eating eggs, cottage cheese and puréed oatmeal on Monday . At this point I don't really care about food. It actually smells kind of weird lol right now I am still sore and really struggling to get my protein in because I get full so fast. I don't have a lot of energy but I have lost 25 pounds since I checked in for surgery
Wow that is amazing! 😄 Congrats!! I start my liquid diet on sept. 29th for a week. I'm a little worried just because so many people have told me it sucks. But the way I see it it's only a week.
