How many bites does it take

So here's a thought I had when your eating something how many bites seems to be enough or how long should you wait between each bite so it doesn't hurt going down. I didn't exactly get to practice this before surgery. 

Well I'm almost 4 mos out and iv always ate fast. I can only eat 2 oz so that'slike 4 bites or so 

I'm 6 months out and it takes between 4-8 bites for me to be finished, depending on the size of the bites.  I weigh out 3-4 ounces per meal, every meal, and only eat what I measure out.  

I put the silverware down between each bite and thoroughly chew, that seems to be sufficient for my speed.
