Morning! MFP help/question...
Morning all!
I just downloaded My Fitness Pal (Shandy2128) to start getting the hang of it prior to surgery. I used WW for the last 3 years, so I'm not completely unfamiliar with the process but once you're sleeved how to accurately track info? The nutrients need to be a total of 100% and if I lower my carb intake, I have to up my protein to over 200 gms and then I feel my fat is too high (ha ha no pun intended lol). Do you just by pass that and keep an eye on the total list of everything and make sure on your own that your where you should be?

Hi Shannon. I am about 15 days postop and have been eating over 80 grams of protein this past week on the full liquid stage. I am on the pureed stage tomorrow so the only thing i have been and will be tracking until i can eat regular foods is protein. I don't so much pay attention to my fat intake but I do try to keep my carbs low, around 40 grams or less. I also track my fluid intake.

Just an FYI, in My Fitness Pal, you can modify the "recommended" totals and choose which things you would like to track.
On my profile, I elected to modify and track calories, carbs, fat, protein... as well as fiber and iron (two things I have trouble with, personally). I changed the recommended daily amounts and percentages, and while MFP still tells me on occasion that I'm not eating enough calories, I ignore that a$$vice. But it's such a useful tool to keep an eye on things on a daily basis.
To change your daily targets for protein, etc., do the following in MFP:
My Home --> Goals --> Change Goals (button) --> Custom (radio button) and input your amounts there.
Additionally to see what items you wish to track on your Food home page, do this:
My Home --> Settings --> Diary Settings --> Select from the drop down fields up to five additional things you would like to track on your Food page.
I hope this helps you. It certainly helped me! Good luck!
