Does anyone know what I can do as far as getting good protein in. My stomach has.still not found a protein shake that it could tolerate.

Eggs, chicken, cow, pig, cottage cheese, yogurt, other dairy, fish, seafood.  You're far enough out that you should be able to get all of your protein from whole foods.

Hi Ashley....

I'm on my Pre-pre op diet.  I thought I would start it as soon as I saw my Dr. so I could jump start the weight loss.  I'm taking in about 60grams of dense protein and I bought the unflavored Isopure from the Vitamin Shoppe and put a scoopful in my Crystal Light.  1 scoop has 26grams of protein and I do that twice a day.  So all in all I'm getting in about 100-110grams of protein per day.  I know that will change once I have my VSG but it seems to be working now and it's virtually tasteless in Crystal Light.  Good Luck!!!!

you are far enough along to fully change over to real food.  you don't have to keep drinking protein shakes forever. experiment with different recipes and find some things you like.  go to the web site, The World According to Eggface and try something new.  I have an egg or a home made protein muffin for breakfast, string cheese or cottage for a mid morning snack.  2oz of meat for lunch, chicken, pork, beef along with a few raw spinach leaves and a sprinkle of sunflower seeds with a light drizzle of low calorie ranch dressing.  Then another string cheese or cottage cheese for mid-afternoon snack.  Supper at home and a cup of milk before bed.  if I get weak between any of that I eat some beef jerky or an Atkins snack bar.

This is the basic outline of my diet. we do eat out and I will have some of my husbands order or I find something I like and take home the rest to eat for the next two days. I only liked one brand of protein shake prior to surgery and couldn't stand it after.  I do add unflavored protein powder to some of my homemade protein muffin recipes, but that's the only time I use it now.

I was an avid Iced Coffee and Frappucicno drinker, but now I mix half of an Atkins Advantage Dark Chocolate Royale Shake with some ice, a scoop of Designer Whey Plain & Simple Protein Powder and a tbsp of Decaf Instant Coffee - mix it in my Ninja and voila. The best Protein Mocha Iced Frappuccino drink around. Its about 30 grams of Protein in one delicious breakfast.

Hope this helps.
