So I was sitting here watching Criminal Minds munching on a Fage Vanilla greek yogurt and I got distracted with the show and before I knew it I had eaten ALL 6 OUNCES. I know we're not supposed to have that much this early out and I'm kinda freaking out right now. Am I going to be ok? Is my sleeve going to be ok? I feel very very full but not nauseous or anything. Is this normal?

You'll probably be fine. Yogurt is soft and, at least for me, passes through the stomach pretty easily.

You will be fine. Yogurt was on my full fluids list. It passes fast. If you aren't throwing up, I wouldn't worry :)

I'm sure you will be fine from this incident, but if you do not take responsibility for what you eat and routinely use the excuse that "I accidentally overate" you will not only never get to goal, you will end up regaining any weight you lose.

Measure your portions and put the rest away.

Measuring cups and spoons are very important -- they prevent accidents.

What Laura and Mary saud. Freestyle eating is a bad idea. Measure and serve yourself the amount you are supposed to eat. Most of us were charter members of the clean your plate club. It's a hard habit to break. If it's not on your plate, you won't automatically eat it.

I fight badgers with spoons.

I am a new sleeved myself (5 days out) And I can tell you there have been challenges. Like for instance, there are many behavior modifications that we must make changes to in addition to dietary restrictions. For instance, here are some that are so second nature to me that I must work at doing better.

1- fast eating, I am learning to eat smallet portions on smaller played with smaller utinsels. I'm making it a habit NOT to watch TV while eating (this has been a difficult change). I  trying now to take smaller slower bites of my food, this allows me to savor the taste of the food as well as taking the time to evaluate the fullness of my new sleeve.

just my thoughts

I am sure you will not have harmed yourself but don't let yourself fall into the trap of thinking, as two posters have said, that it is "fine".  There are rules you can break - once you are well post-op - but there are rules you should not break.  And your own doctor's rules in the post-op stage are ones you should not break.

If your doctor said that at this stage you should have specific portion sizes, measure them!  And at any stage, free eating from a large portion is always risky!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Yolanda you will be fine... but like said above just measure it out before you start eating this way you can't and won't be able to do it again.... but don't beat your self up ... we all make mistakes .. we just need to remember them and learn from them.... NO ONE PERFECT!!! :-)

So...what did you LEARN from this experience? As our very SMART friends have pointed out, "mindless" eating can. and WILL lead to all kind of problems you do NOT want (PLEASE TRUST ME ON THIS ONE)...You will not able to FULLY enjoy the TV show OR the yogurt...

I know this wasn't your QUESTION, but I HAD to say something, because I CARE

WE have COMPLETE OWNERSHIP of what goes into our MOUTHS...You wouldn't believe how many people I come in contact with who cannot/will not grasp that concept...
