In need of moral support - 6 months out and stalled!

None of my friends or family can add anything more than "I can't believe you are complaining, look how much you've lost so quickly".  I don't need to hear that.

The month of September I lost 7 lbs- this was the first month since my VSG in April I lost less than 10 lbs in a month.  In October, I've only lost 3.2lbs.  I'm really frustrated

I had my VSG on 4/14/14, and I weighed 253 ( I was 270 when I started pre-op 4 week diet on 3/14).  I am 6.5 months out and weight 184.  Don't get me wrong, in my head I know this is a lot of weight to lose in that amount of time.  However, I see others on the site still losing 10 and 12 lbs per month even after 6 months out.

I'm scared to death that this is it - my body is where it's going to stay.  I'm not ok with that.  I've stayed on plan the whole time-with a tiny lapse here and there but I'm talking maybe 2% of the time a bite of this or that.  Nothing on the regular.  I get at least 85g protein, less than 45-50g carbs, at least 70 oz water, and at least 4 days of exercise.

I guess I'm just looking for encouragement that it's not over and I will get through this and have better months by anyone who has been in this predicament.  Thanks in advance to all who take the time to respond to me:)

I will encourage you -- your weight loss is NOT over, you WILL get through this.  But I won't lie to you and say that you may start losing up to 10 lbs. a month again because that's just not reality.  Not mine (look at my ticker) and not a lot of people....not at 6 months out.

The truth is this:  as you get lighter and closer to goal, you will lose less and less each month.  But that amount of weight may actually represent a larger percentage of your overall weight.  It's about PERCENTAGES not POUNDS lost.

One suggestion I have for you is to up your water intake.  You should be doing a minimum of 80 oz. per day and shooting for 100 oz. on the days you exercise.  Also, cut the carbs to 30-40 rather than 45-50.  It works...

Thank you Tracy!  This is what I need to hear!  I'm going to take your advice and change things up a bit.

Stalls happen.  It'll pass!  Stick to your plan and you'll get there.  :)

I'm 7.5 months out and I feel like I've been stalled all of October.  But, whatever, I'll reach my goal slowly just the same as if I reach it swiftly.  Reaching it is the important part.

The weight loss will slow. Just keep working it and it all adds up. Every pound now is noticeable. My losses are about 6 / month now. It seems slow but it is good. And I only lose one week a month....right around my period...
