6 month stats and pics
I tried to share this the other night but the pic was too big. hopefully this works! :)
I am 6 months and 1 week post op. Surgeon was Dr. Corvala in Tijuana. I highly recommend him and Hospital Angeles!
I started at 278 (in the before pic from last fall I was around 255). I have went from size 24 jeans to size 15 and 3x tops to size large tops. My wedding rings wont stay on anymore and I went down 1.5 shoe sizes! Crazy! :) The after pic is from a formal gala a couple nights ago. I had SO much fun getting dressed up and feeling good about myself. The dress is a size large and I bought it online. I NEVER bought clothes without trying them on before. I was so happy when it arrived that it fit! :) I am currently 194 lbs and hope to lose about 30 more. That will put me at my 6th grade weight. haha
This surgery is the best thing I have ever done! (besides marrying my amazing husband and having our kids of course :) ) I would do it over and over again to get to live this new, happy and more enjoyable life. Do I still have the same problems as before? yes. Losing weight doesn't "fix" everything but it sure helps you deal with stress better. And it just makes life so much easier! Pre surgery, I barely ever left the house. I was so embarrassed to be seen by people I knew. I had zero confidence to try new things. I just felt so burdened and weighted down by being so overweight. Now I'm having a lot of fun trying new things like kayaking and weight lifting. I'm planning on a warrior dash next June for my one year surgiversary. I'm kind of scared of that but really excited too!
I did this surgery for myself but also for my kids. They have a much better life now too! We walked to the park so many times this summer. They loved it! Mom is so much more fun and energetic. :)Next summer will be even better. I can't wait to swim with them! I have always avoided that at all costs. I can't wait to buy a cute bathing suit! The only drawback of major weight loss so far is my boobs have disappeared. lol But it's a small price to pay! Totally worth it! :) So anyway, that's my 6 month update. Time is flying! Life is good!
aww. Congratulations on a job well done! You look amazing! What a beautiful couple.
