Try different temperatures.  Try mixing them with different things - milk, water, almond milk, try different brands of powders, etc.

Never in a million years could I drink the ready-to-drink stuff.  After much experimentation I found I actually enjoyed Unjury Chocolate Splendor (unjury.com).  I mix it with almond milk and pour it over ice every morning.

Figure this out because it's too important to your health.  You can't skip it.  Also, sometimes the smell can make you nauseous so use a bottle with a lid to block the smell.

You know these water enhancers, like crystal light? Sunkist makes a sugar-free orange flavor. Add some to vanilla protein for an orange creamsicle shake

I hated the sweetness of the drinks.  I always thought it was stupid to make 'weight loss' foods like protein drinks and protein bars taste like milkshakes and candybars.  Why don't they make them taste like chicken and broccoli?  They should be getting us ready for our new lifestyle, but I digress...

I added a flavorless protein powder to some savory soups I had gotten at Central Market, including a yummy carrot and ginger soup and a butternut squash soup.  It was good with even the cream of chicken or whatever soups I had on hand.  Water them down, and whirr them up with your blender or bullet or wand blender.  Then let them sit for a while in your fridge so the foam can settle.  Heat them up briefly and sip sip sip with a spoon.  That worked for me, the combination of savory and warm.

But, also remember your stomach is swollen, so the surgeon's recommendations are GOALS. Most of us can't get all of the protein/liquid in the first few weeks.  Just do the bet you can.  You aren't going to die, and most of all, you aren't going to starve!

Good luck!
