I have a hard time with the protein shakes unless I heat them up in the microwave and drink them like hot chocolate. That's the only way ive been able to keep them down. I use Premier Protein chocolate.

What are you making them with? A lot of people (myself included) encounter issue with milk after their surgery. Maybe try with water or almond milk or possibly let them sit for a bit so they aren't so cold?

Ive been drinking the premade stuff..its lactose free. Tried a couple different ones so far trying to mix it up...but the texture is just so awful!!!

All the pre-made ones I've had have been gross.  Try ordering samples of powder from Nashua Nutrition.

My doctor didn't approve protein drinks until 7 - 10 days after surgery. And now he had me drinking a half of a premier protein 3 times a day, it is easier to drink 5 1/2 oz 3 times a day then to drink 11 oz all at ones (well it is for me). He also said the protein spaced out would help my energy level and it has.

A friend told me she puts a tsp of peanut butter in hers to help mask the protein taste.

Keep looking for a product you can tolerate. There is a huge variety out there. If you are a coffe drinker, try Chike- it is like an iced coffee and I adore it. I did Isopure Plus early out- drank like koolaid to me and 60 grams of protein a bottle. Try the cream of chicken soup option- that was also good a masking the protein taste. I also added shake mix to regular decaf- made like a Mocha that was good. Keep trying!
