When can you add fruit to protein shake...
I plan to check with Dr tomorrow but wanted to see what others think as well. I begin week 2 tomorrow and wonder when a banana or other fruit can be added. My Dr said for this time if it passes a strain you can have it.
I appreciate your feedback.

I'm 10 months out and I eat fruit very rarely. It's doesn't pack any sort of protein punch, so, most of the time, it's not worth the stomach space. My plan also wants me to avoid liquid calories aside from a protein shake (low carb), so I definitely wouldn't be adding liquid calories in the form of fruit into my lifestyle.

I make my shakes with unsweetened almond milk, since I've never been a big milk drinker. You can go to nashua nutrition and order samples of shakes - there are tons of different flavors and varieties out there.
You might have better luck adding the unflavored powder into things that already have flavor - chicken broth, for example.

This early out I was able to have only 1/2 a banana with my protein shakes. I was able to have berries after 6 weeks, but I still had to put through a strainer. Found out there's tons of little seeds. I didn't want those getting caught in my incision line, so I stopped using berries. Be safe and ask your surgeon.
