Has anyone else had strange changes in their periods?  I'm 6 months post op today!!  I've lost 96 lbs.  And today my time of the month started an entire week early today.  It is very strange.  And I'm wondering if anyone has experienced strange changes.

Yep, I sure did. I had my period before Christmas. (Pre-op) Then, 3 days after surgery (Jan. 2nd) I had it again. Then January (last week I had one for like 2 days). It seems to be completely random at the moment. It could be because I am so close to my op date. Not sure though.

Mine were getting to be about 20 day cycles and I was on birth control pills as well.  It was weird.  I stopped the pills thinking that was the problem and we used condoms and spermicide instead...then I ended up pregnant.

Either you are ovulating super early OR your luteal phase has been affected by the weight loss.  Nothing to worry about now, but if you still have these weird cycles later and are trying to get pregnant, you might want to read up on charting to get a feel for what is going on.

For now...just chalk it all up to wacky hormones related to weight loss.

Same here. Had my cycle every 28 days and it was on time before surgery. Started another 13 days later, which was 3 days after surgery. It lasted a bit longer than normal as well. Followed that by another cycle not two weeks after that. Very confusing and annoying because I just dont know when they are going to show. On the flip side though, I have PCOS and many of the noticeable symptoms have already started to ease! yayy!!!

LOTS OF PERSONAL INFO...Don't read it if you don't want some intimate details!!

Now I'm thinking that it isn't my period...because there hasn't been anything since this morning.  Now I'm concerned that I was bleeding while I was intimate with my hubby this morning.  That is much more worrisome to me. :(

I definitely have, even with taking Seasonique (which is a BCP that limits bleeding to once every 13 weeks).  I'll start spotting after 8-9 weeks and need to skip a week of pills just to give my body the chance to bleed. I'm sure it'll regulate eventually!

hormonal birth control does not work when you are losing weight quickly the hormones stored in you fat gets released screwing up you cycle ( multi periods a month , skipping months ect)

you need to use 2 non hormonal types of birth control

talk to your ob gyn and if he/ she is not shore have him /her talk to your surgeon

if your done having kids getting your or your partners tubes tied is safest (still not 100%)the closest to 100% is not having sex but that rarely happens
