Another surgery.... inflammation decrease diet recommendations?

Hello all!

I am coming up to yet another surgery (cancer patient stuff) and was wondering if anyone out there can recommend a diet that assists in reducing inflammation. I do get that lower carb, no sugar goes a long way... my juicing of fresh veggies also helps if I am not so lazy and actually do it. Any other suggestions? I am not in the weight loss phase, but if a couple pounds came off it would not be an issue. Thanks in advance!

The key components of an alkaline diet to reduce inflammation:

- No sugar (you got that)

- No wheat/grains of any kind

- No dairy

- No meat

Oh that sucks. No dairy kills me. No meat- ugh, tough to do a higher protein diet. No wheat/grains too. Ok, so it looks like fruit, veggies, fish, and protein shakes for a while! Thanks for the post. If others have suggestiosn please continue... I have poked around online, but if someone out there tried something and found that it actually worked I would be very interested!

protein shakes =whey=dairy, highly processed. Not good.

Oh right, forgot about the dairy in the shakes. The protein is critical though, and dropping meat and sticking more to fish won't cut it though. I will switch over at least to blending my own and using almond milk (unsweetened). Thanks for pointing that out- they are just such a habit for me anymore.

another option is Autoimmune Paleo (AIP). No idea if it will hep with your issues, but it has been helpful with those with autoimmune disorders.

Here is an article about heart disease but it addresses inflammation and the damage it causes. It also explains the diet to maintain to reduce inflammation
