I am scheduled for surgery on 6/14 and I now have to do the maintenance diet 5 days out of the week and the pre op diet for 2. I can pick however I want to do when I eat different. I am a picky eater(which sucks) and I am having issues with making my meals. If anyone could give me a hand that would be great. This way I can figure out what I can eat after surgery after some time. For example tonight I am having 1.5oz 90%lean ground beef, .5oz cheese, half cup of shredded lettuce, 1 taco shell crushed. Hopefuly this makes sense and I can get some help.

TIA

What does your doctor consider pre-op and maintenance meal plans?

There is usually a daily post on this board called "What cha eating" or something like that, where people share what their daily food plan looks like.  These posts will give you a really good sense of what people are eating in various stages of post-op.

There are  lot of recipes on the recipe forum on this site, and people post their daily menus on the "what cha eating today, VSG'ers?" thread daily on this forum.  Since you are a fussy eater, I wouldn't presume to recommend things.

There is also a site called "the world according to egg face"  that many people recommend.  It might give you ideas.

I found I had to cook interesting foods to help me resist the pizza and lasagna and other foods that I shouldn't eat.  So I've been cooking more now that I am eating less!

I also found that low carb was a big help because carbs cause serious food cravings for me.  It might be worth trying to cut carbs and see if it helps you stick to plan.

best wishes,

Carol
