Nsv camping

Fell in love with the hubby when we were young camping. Raised out kids camping, but switched to a pop-up trailer due to the weight being such an issue making tent camping too uncomfortable. Then just stopped going altogether due to heat/weight issues. Just got back from a great weekend, and even with the

Just got back from a great weekend, and even with the pad I was sleeping on not being inflated enough (i.e. damn useless for comfort purposes) it was totally no big deal. It has been a while since a new Nsv has popped up, but I love this one.  Hoping to be able to use tents for at least a few more years before going back to a trailer.  A great weekend beachfront on Lake Michigan can't be beaten!

Is it terrible that I might bring my IP next time we camp? Talk about quick and easy cooking/cleanup!

Boy does this speak to me!  I went camping for a Ragnar event last month and it was awesome.  I hadn't been camping since I was a child and was dreading it, but it was great!

That whole dread thing- I have the same type of response sometimes and really need to get past that. This weekend on Friday I was super tired after work- and I knew ahead of time that would likely be the case. I dreaded the drive up (3.5 hours) and nearly canceled. Then when we got up there is was pitch black and pouring rain. Dreaded setting up and almost canceled. Finally had the hubby just turn around and we went into town and got a hotel for the night. As luck would have it the only room left had 3 queen sized beds, thank goodness. Had my teenage daughter and her boyfriend with us, so that room was a blessing. Anyway, came so close to cancelling what turned out to be an amazing weekend. I am an avoider type be nature, and really need to remind myself to get past that initial hurdle sometimes to get to the good stuff! I am so glad your camp trip went well! Anytime we work something back into our lives due to being healthy enough to pick it up again it is wonderful!!!

My husband, the kids and I used to camp too but had stopped for comfort reasons as well.  You inspire me to think about doing it again (we still have all the gear)!

We had our gear also for our first trip out this summer (earlier this summer). Yea, the 20 year old tent leaked. Bad too. On a happy note though, we replaced it with an Instant Tent- worth every penny. That puppy goes up in under 2 minutes, and comes down just as easy!  The last two trips my 17 year old daughter came along with her boyfriend. The boyfriend had never been camping, so it was an extra awesome for that reason. He loved it, the daughter asked for camp gear for Christmas, and if those two end up staying together long term there is a lot of camping in their future.

You should try again once you feel ready!
