Had my follow up with my surgeon's office today and the CRNP basically kicked me in the butt! He told me to expect a weight loss of 4-8 lbs a month. I have lost 14 in the past 5 weeks. He said that if I continue to obsess about "how much did I lose this week?" I will end up sabotaging my diet.

He said to remember the important things:

1. 60 mg protein

2. 6 meals a day

3. Try to get to 64 oz of fluid (not quite there, but almost)

4. Move, move, move!! Even if it is chair-dancing to the radio!

I really love him!!! You guys, along with him have really given me the support I needed most! Wish I could group hug you all!

Great advice from your surgeon!

Nothing wrong with chair dancing! I TOTALLY bust a move at my desk during the workday, as long as nobody is watching :)

Solid advice - although it's 60 GRAMS of protein, not milligrams :) Also, with number 3, there is no try, there is only do.

One thing that helps me is to use Trendweight.com to follow the trend of my weight, this helped me to detach from obsessing about the actual number. It might help you as well.

I did chair dancing when I had no mobility...it actually helps a lot with swelling and cardio, believe it or not :) They also have chair yoga with all the positions altered. That is also great for building up the core muscles. I do it at work because everyone already thinks I'm nuts so why not?

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!
