Ugh about the depression questions. I have a friend who gets those questions from her mom - who happens to be a therapist. Like.. wtf?! Makes me wonder how the mom is with her actual patients or is she just a ass about it to her daughter?

The Packit lunch bags work great. Well worth it - I used them for work every day, I bring them to the beach, and I've used them to travel with food on planes and in cars.

Good Morning All - Up early and already have a batch of Zuchinni Bacon Loaves in the oven, banking is done and Im settling down to work. Want to also get some baking done after work and my appointments as my stepson is coming to stay on Saturday with his partner & son - so want to have something on hand. Lemon Sponge Slice and also Hummingbird Cake with cream cheese frosting

QOTD: Probably the most annoying thing I find is being asked after people see what I eat "If Im hungry as thats such a small amount" I guess they are used to seeing what I did eat pre WLS but it makes you feel kinda like you are a bit of a oddity

B: Zuchinni Bacon Loaf - straight from the oven

L: Roll with meatloaf, cheese and homemade Chutney - leftovers

D: Steak with Veg - I cooked a meatloaf last night instead

Have a wonderful day all :)

Yeah, to a lot of people we are an oddity which is why they are always complaining about their weight. I have a friend who has some serious heart issues who's doctor says he MUST lose weight. He lost 30, then promptly gained 40. And he said to me "Isn't surgery a little drastic?". Keep in mind that he has seen me eat at meals frequently and knows I can eat whatever I want but just smaller portions. AND I've told him that I enjoy my food more.

Hey all.

I'm getting discouraged and I know in my head that I shouldn't. I was 10 lbs heavier post surgery and I still haven't gotten it all off, as of yesterday? I finally had my husband hide my scale so I wouldn't put myself through it everyday. I'll weigh again when I see the doc for my post-op next week.

My belly is still so swollen that I look like I'm 5 months pregnant. I guess there's nothing I can do about that other than walk-walk-walk, and take Gas-X. I have a message in to my center, so maybe they'll have some good ideas. PLUS I haven't pooped in a week! I have some really spectacular toots, but that's it. I've been following the post-op liquid diet faithfully, so something has to give.

Let's see...most annoying question. Nothing concerning weight yet, but I'm sure I'll get it when I go back to work on the 9th. Then I'll be annoyed. LOL! I haven't told anyone at work about my WLS, except a couple people, and I don't plan on it. My personal business is my business, not anyone else's. That's why I don't have anyone from work on my FB. I really like keeping work separate from my real life.

I promised myself I wouldn't weigh for two weeks post-op. I made it one week. Heh. Then I found Trendweight.com which has been a mental health saver for me. Being able to focus on the trend of my weight instead of the actual numbers is amazing. And this definitely helped in the early post-op days, since I'd lost 25 pounds in the 2.5 months pre-op :D

The QOTD wasn't WLS related - no one asks you annoying things about the rest of your life?

Are you using Miralax at all? Are you still taking narcotics?

QOTD: "Just one won't hurt you, will it?" (food, drink, cig, whatever)

Yes I'm still using the Norco...that's probably the cause of my lack of poop. I've cut back on it drastically, but I still need it. I'm going to TRY to just use tylenol tomorrow.

Yes, I'm using Miralax.

I've got a call into my doc...I'm sure he'll have suggestions. I've got an abundance of gas. I feel like I'm going for a new record for the longest toot.

I weighed every month only on my surgiversary (except at the doctors office). I found that it kept me sane to avoid seeing fluctuations and stalls.
