I was thinking with my pre-existing conditions it may be sooner. Thanks for the info. I'm excited and scared. My younger Sister chuckled snidely when I threw it out that I would get this surgery. She lost over 160lbs on her own through diet & exercise 10yrs ago & has maintained 140lb loss.
anyway, I'm doing it for me & my health.

Thanks for your reply. I've heard people recover better with VSG. I just would like to time it right for my vacations which I choose in October for the following year.

I have not seen a doc yet. I am in the pre-pre-pre planning stages. I wanted to know is it true you have to go through a 6-month counseling period before surgery and if so why? Also, how long should I be out of work for VSG? If I plan it with the 6 months, it could be Jan. or Feb. right? I live in NYC and leaning toward Dr. Garber
