Yep, I saw this nonsense on 1 of these reality shows I used to watch. All I could think of is What in the world will they think up next.

They do an oxygen bar for the students at the University I work at during finals. I have not tried it and don't really get the concept. Some folks say it wakes them up.

Don't knock it until you try it. I woudln't go for hydration, but I would go for a Vitamin C and glutathione infusion.

They are like spas (I've been to several). The ones in austin have massage chairs, scented eye clothes, etc. It's not painful at all. If they didn't cost 100+ dollars a visit, I'd be going weekly. I'd rather use that money for a massage.

But this is my experience: after the infusion I feel far more energetic and small cuts appear to heal faster ,and my skin looks better.

As a side note, it's very hard for me to get in vitamin C. Vitamin C supplements give me terrible heart burn and it's really hard to get in enough from just food to raise my levels. So for me it may be just a Vitamin C infusion is worth the money.

IMO, as a business model, it's a pointless expense for something most people can (and should) manage themselves for just hydration and vitamins. Those with a true need for an infusion is completely different.

Aren't most businesses preying on pointless expenses? Hello, Shopkins, Hatchimals, and Fingerlings!

I'd consider it if it weren't so ridiculously expensive. Not so much the vitamin infusions, but there have been times after illness and such (and in my much younger days post-heavy-drinking) when an IV could get me re-hydrated much faster than drinking water/electrolyte stuff. I'd have happily taken a liter or 2 about 4 days post-op as well, as I was really struggling to get a bare minimum of fluid in. But the only way to do that for me was an ER visit and I wasn't that bad off.

Of course, I don't stress about needles. When I was a paramedic student, we practiced on each other. I don't find them stressful or painful... the only drawback was that I bruise like fruit so after IV class I looked like a junkie. ;) For someone who hates needles, I can see why this would NEVER be an option.

I think it's a great idea in certain ways...I personally don't ENJOY the feeling of an IV and they can be quite uncomfortable...but I've heard that being dehydrated can be just plain miserable! I'm only 5 days out now so I am praying I am staying hydrated as required...they tell me to drink one ounce of water every 15 minutes!

I can drink a lot more, and a lot quicker, than an IV can put it in.

This is just a gimmick for people with too much money to make themselves feel special.

We should pool our money and open Enema Centers. I bet we could get numbskulls to pay us.

Enema Centers are already a thing, it's just branded as "colon hydrotherapy."
