Fabulous is a State of Mind
"Fabulous is a state of mind," says OH event speaker Cari De La Cruz. The word fabulous is defined as something that is almost impossible to believe; incredible, exceptionally good, unusual, marvelous or superb. Note the glaring lack of the words: Perfect, beautiful, exact, pure, or impossible.
Surprised by that? I was. I always thought fabulous was the same as perfect. I didn’t believe it was possible or acceptable for me to even be fabulous. In my book, it was something only a crazy person should consider. Oh sure, it was reasonable for me to be funny or cute…but – fabulous? Absolutely not. I was convinced that fabulous was an adjective reserved for other people; pretty people, sexy people, famous people, and skinny people. How wrong I was, and how sad that I wasted 40 years not realizing one, simple fact: Fabulous has nothing to do with the outside, and everything to do with the inside. It is not about being perfect or better than anyone else. It is about being perfectly happy with your imperfections and believing that you are the best “you? you can be.
You know what? Feeling fabulous is not a crime. It is not wrong to want to be the best person you can be, it is not a sin to exude confidence and strength, and I believe everyone can be fabulous – if they believe they can. That’s the key to the whole thing! You must believe that you are fabulous, before you actually will be.
Don’t believe me?
Not sure it’s your thing?
Afraid it will be all about how you look?
Worried people will think you’re shallow?
You’ll just have to trust me :-)
Get in touch with your inner fabulous. Join me in Bellevue on July 15-16 for a fabulously good time and I will help you find the “fabulous? you were born to be. Oh, and don’t expect this to be about make-up, hair or shoes…although, knowing me, there will be some discussion of those things. Fabulous is a state of mind; it comes from within and when you believe it, so will everyone else.
Hey, for you men out there, this isn’t going be some chickfest! I’ll help you find your fabulous too – so be there! Have a fabulous day, and I’ll see YOU in Seattle."
