Goal of the Month: Spend More Time with Family
Let’s make it a goal this month to spend more time with the ones that love us the most: our family members. Here are five ways you can do just that!
1. Have Dinner Together
The importance of families eating dinner together can sometimes be lost in the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. Studies show that the more often children have dinner with their parents; the less likely they are to smoke, drink, or use illegal drugs. Sharing meals together also gives your family time to share your individual events of the day.
2. Share a Family Night
Pick a night of the week and make it your family night. A night where you all get together and play a board game, read a book aloud, watch a movie, or any other activity that you will all enjoy.
3. Exercise with Your Family
Take a walk with your family around the neighborhood or in your local park. Spend time at a batting cage, play mini-golf, or a game of horseshoes. Pick an activity of your choice!
4. Cook Together
Sharing family time in the kitchen is not only a great way to bond; it gives you teachable moments and lifelong memories to share.
5. Make a Phone Call
Call a relative that lives far away and share with them your family moments. You can Skype, share FaceTime, webcam moments, or connect in various other interactive ways.
