Topic: RE: Almost 2 years out!
hey, it's been a while! I did find lots of good ideas for shakes! You can eat salad? I haven't even tried it since the surgery, how do you get your protein in with salad, do you add chicken or something?

Topic: RE: Almost 2 years out!
Thank you for all your suggestions, I have tried the sugar free candy and I think that is what got me started honestly. I think I will try to find a group, I moved this last summer and I just don't have the support and strength I used to have where I used to live. Time for me to move on and get back on track! Thanks everyone!

Topic: RE: Almost 2 years out!
I can't belive that I am almost 2 years out! I have lost 200 pounds and have a completely different outlook on life! One problem, I can eat more then I used too and I have been cheating eating candy. I feel out of control and I never want to get where I was before. Any ideas, I feel like my will power is gone, why after 2 years am I loosing my self control?!

Topic: RE: What do I stock up on?
Stock up on crystal light and jello too, that and the shakes will be your meals for a few weeks! Good luck!

Topic: RE: Peanut Butter
I just checked out that website, is the pb in powder form? Do you use it to cook with or can you mix a bunch and leave it in the fridge or something to eat with meals?

Topic: RE: Peanut Butter
I eat better then peanut butter from trader joes, it has 2 grams of fat and 4 grams of protein it is not sticky either! I started eating pb about 6 months out.

Topic: RE: when can you eat raw veggies
No, I haven't tried any yet. The surgeon said I could try some, I am just not sure what to try first and was wondering what others have done. I think I will try some lettuce with chicken, that sounds good! Thanks!

Topic: RE: when can you eat raw veggies
I have been thinking about salad for almost a year now. I am about 1 year out. Tell me about your raw veggie experiance or salad eating experiances. Does it make you sick and how much do you eat?

Topic: RE: When do I buy new clothes???
I personally did both. I love shopping so I hit up all the clearance racks and bought in 1 to 2 sizes too small so I could shrink into them. If you save all the reciepts and the tags are still attached you can take things back if you end up not wearing them. Everyone is different, I lost weight so fast that it seemed like I was in a new size every 2-4 weeks, it also dpends on how tight you wear your clothes. Except clothes from anyone who wants to give you used clothes, shop at thrift stores, it is going to get expensive! I went down from a 28 jeans and 30/32 top in January of this year to currently wearing a 14 jeans and 12/14 top. It was almost to fast to keep up on! Remember though that you are not just buying new clothes, you will need new tops, bottoms, jackets, bra's underwear I even had to have my ring sized from an 11 to a 8. Everything changes! Be prepared!

Topic: RE: If feels great tro be under 200 pounds!
Thank you all and congrats to all of you that have reached the goal of being under 200!

Topic: RE: If feels great tro be under 200 pounds!
Before I has this surgery I would have never thought I would ever be under 200 pounds. The last time I weighed under that was in middle school! I am so close to my goal and feel like this surgery was the best decision of my life!

Topic: RE: pizza low fat low carb /sugar any ideas?
I use the Pita bread that is whole wheat, I love it!

Topic: RE: looser cards?!?!
Does anyone know where to find the person that does the personalized 100 pound looser cards. I am almost to the 150 pound mark and need the looser card. Thanks in advance!

Topic: RE: Celebration question?!?!?
Thank you to all of you. I think I will try a bite of cake and see what happens, and or make my piece be somthing sugar free. I am not all that interested in sweets anymore so I guess I don't need a whole cake to be sugar free. One bite sounds good enough for me! Thanks to all of you again! =)

Topic: RE: Before and After Photos
Thank you all...I feel great! Lets see...my secret...I don't have one, I just follow all the dr's orders, I eat 4-5 times a day between 2-4 ounces still and I walked all that weight off. 2 miles a day everyday with a day off once in a blue moon, and I haven't cheated, not sugar at all!

Topic: RE: Before and After Photos
I have posted my 2 weeks pre-op and 6 months out photos...come see and let me know what you think!

Topic: RE: Celebration question?!?!?
I am getting married on October and will be 9 months out by then. My question is this...what should I do about he cake situation and the toast? I would like to be traditional in that I want to be able to feed each other some cake, I don't want to get sick though. Also, I will not be far enough out to drink alcohol and champaign has bubbles in it anyway. What have you all done in situations like this? I appreciate any suggestions you all may have. One person suggested green tea instead of teh champaign, I kind of like that idea. I have not eated ANY sugar since sergury, and I am scared to be sick from cake on my wedding day!

Topic: RE: Is it difficult after wls to cook meals for the family?
I haven't had any problems with oders but the first few weeks it was really hard because my family was eating regular food while I was on the liquid diet. I didn't feel hungry, just left out. I even posted disscusions on here about how upset I was becuase I felt like my family time was gone. After the first few weeks you start eating solid foods and you eat at the same time at them sometimes but then it takes longer then them to finish. Eventually you learn to cook healthy foods and they love it! I just make one extra serving for myslef and eat it the next day for lunch, and have the same dinner they do. Everything about your WLS journey is going to take time, there will be good days, bad days, sad days, mad days. But after that weight comes off and you are able to get around more, and become active...it will all be worth it! Good luck! =)

Topic: RE: most recent WOW-MOMENT!
That is sooooo exciting, I can't wait to buy my first little black dress!

Topic: RE: B-12 shots
Get your labs first then the shot. I made that mistake once and had my shot then the labs the next day, it threw everything off and they wouldn't have even known unless I told them that I had the shot the day before. They say get your blood work done before shots, or 2-3 weeks after a shot.

Topic: RE: I really need help with this...
I would check your meds first, some side effects of meds in combination with being in the sun can do that. You did mention that you were in the sun recently. You can go online and look up side effects of meds. Also, tell your dr you want to see a dermatologist or get a referal to see one. Don't let it become permanant. =)

Topic: RE: One more issues to deal with
I don't know what my levels were before surgery but I get both a B1 and B12 shot monthly since surgery and also take the sublingual every day. I don't think you can have too much, but you can deffinitely go low after surgery. My B1 was a little low right after surgery but so far so good with the monthly shots. Hope this helps. =)

Topic: RE: How many ounces do you eat?
I know you all eat so why isn't anyone answering my question?!

Topic: RE: 6 Month Diet Troubles
It sounds like you are trying, soda my my firsth thing too. It is really hard to diet, but if you can't do it now then how are you gonna control yourself after surgery. Kick yourself for cheeting because you are the only person that you are effecting when you do that. I don't want to upset you, but need to try harder! You CAN DO THIS!!!! =) Good luck!
