Topic: NEW INDIANA GROUP FOR INDIANA MEMBERS!
    Photobucket

    Welcme!

This group is NEW and (ONLY) for the Men and Women  of Indiana to come and share stories, share hope, and get support from one another through this life changing tool.

I am trying to gather all the members from Indiana and get us together in one GREAT group! There is more than CORN in Indiana there are all the great people who have gone through the many struggles with weight and weight related issues, and now we are or have done something about it!

Come post some questions, or post about how your surgery has went.

If your new and hoping to have surgery, or you have had it come share and get support and meet some new friends!

If you know of any support groups in your area come post them for ones who may be looking.

Just join and talk about whatever may cross your mind, be it family, surgery, fears, questions, or just to meet new friends maybe around your area.

    Topic: Brand new here...
Hi there, I work at a level 4 mens prison in California. I love the job. I know that by having this surgery I will be healthyier and better at my job when it comes to responding to alarms and such. I don't hear much from the inmates as far as comments. I hear from my partners that I don't look as big as I am with our stab vests and everything else we wear. I guess it is good camouflage. I hope you all keep up the losing and please feel free to stop by my profile and drop a line about your own experiences with WLS.

Nice to find this board, I am new and just starting the process into WLS with Kaiser. Good luck and congrats to all of you. I know how much better you must feel going to work knowing you can respond and actually help in the event of an emergency.
Topic: Anyone Work for the CCA?
My hubby just got a job with the CCA in Nashville, I was wondering if anyone else worked for them ( any location ) and if the insurance they provide covers a tummy tuck for post ops. I will check his plan, I was just wondering if anyone here knew. Thanks!!!

Congrats on your loss. Sure makes the job easier. I will have a busy weekend also. Two doubles in a row and then 4 next weekend. Can't wait for summer vacations to end. Take care Scott

I found that they checked me out more when I was bigger. And they never called me names, even though I heard a "moo" every now and again. Maybe they thought that I had low self-esteem when I was bigger, hence the more attention. Ever since my weight loss, I've had no problems what so ever. Could be also that my DH works there, too and they are scared of him. Who knows. I won't worry about it ever again because I resigned last week after 12 years. yay, me. I finally E.O.S'd Gisela

Boy, I really hope they don't start checking me out! Then I am in trouble. I can't wait for the new nickname but it will have to be better than the fat ones. Take care Scott
Topic: RE: Back to my hire date weight
Way to go Scott! I weighed 250 when I started in corrections and am now down to 176. The only thing is they come up with other creative things to call you I am no longer fat *ss b*tch. I won't post my new nick name it is much worse!!! Even worse I have now noticed that the convicts are checking me out eeeeewwwww which is something they did not do when I weighed three hundred pounds! Tara 296/176/150ish

I passed the physical test (sit-ups, push-ups, sit and reach and 1.5 mile run) at 290 lbs. That was four and a half years ago. After gaining 85 pounds in that time, I am finally back to that area. It is weird that I felt as if I had decieved my department because I was not who they hired. Anyway, I'm back to my hire weight which makes me feel better about the job. Also, it will feel nice not to hear "fat F*ck" yelled from the back of the dorm everytime I walk in. Take care all, Scott

Joe, did any of the Officers that had the surgery get hit in the stomach? I wondering about that. I work at a county jail, in Green Bay, WI.
