Adopt homeless animals from shelters or pounds

I adopted my precious Pekingese from the Animal care and Control (the Pound) here in Jacksonville, FL. She was homeless, cold, and skinny. She came home 2 days before Valentine's day in 2003 and quickly stole our hearts and now is our fat, happy fur baby. Our vet said she was less than one year old and in very good health. Remember these animals and that by adopting a homeless animal you save a life. Many shelters now have websites you can visit to look at the animals available for adoption.
