For those of you who have had your RMR tested - how close was it to the calculated RMR?

I'm having trouble finding somewhere locally that does this and I'm curious if I should just go with my calculated RMR.

I had mine tested recently. According to the calcuated RMR - it is 1578. Tested was 1950. Hope this helps.

That does help - thanks! I actually JUST found a place locally that does it so I'm waiting for an appt... Very curious to know how close it is to the calculated.

Thanks again!

Good luck! All these tests are going to cost me!  I also had my VO2 max tested. Hopefully I will see the results on the scale from all of it =)

I had my RMR tested by New Leaf in May 2007; it tested at just over 2000.  My calculated RMR at that time was around 1700.  For folks that are heavy exercisers, our actual RMRs are often higher than our calculated RMRs.   Glad you found someplace locally where you can get tested!  Knowing a number was helpful for me in modifying my daily food plan.  I really should get tested again to see where I'm at now -  Kellie
