Your surgeon should give you parameters of what/when (e.g. usually most have 6 weeks of no lifting things >10lbs, no swimming until incisions are healed). But what do you mean by "walking is just not working out"? Like, you're bored with it? Or you don't feel your working hard enough? If you're bored, you can walk in new locations or in new trails (like switch up outdoors, indoor/treadmill, hiking, etc). If you don't feel it's hard enough, try picking up the pace or adding in jogging/running as intervals.

I was allowed to do the elliptical at 2 weeks out.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

I was back at the gym at 2 weeks but doing things that didn't stress my core or involve lifting. So mostly riding the stationery bike and walking.

i tried some stuff like Jazzercise at 1 month but I wasn't ready to stress my core yet. I did start running on the treadmill around then though. It wasn't until 2 months out that I was able to do pilates and other core work.
