I have a 7 acre mini farm. It has tons of wooded areas. I love to grow shade perennials. Hostas Astillbe Pulmanaria Ferns Lamium Solomon seal I also have many many varieties of Daylilies and Iris. Every year my DH starts a massive veggie garden which ends up a pile of weeds with lots of tomatoes and peppers in it! What do you like to grow???

Hi, I love Dahlias, lavender(I have many plants), roses (I have about 60), lots of hostas, and many other perennials. I also grow tomatos, peppers, pumpkins and gourds every year. The things I am best at growing, tho, are weeds.

I love to garden. This year most thing are going to be in pots or planted in straw bales. I am going to plant tomatoes, peppers, okra, lima beans. nasturisiums, and cucumbers, and sunflower seed for the birds and for my beans and cukes to climb up. I started my seed pots a couple of days ago. I hope my grape tomatoes do good they are so yummy. I also forgot I will plant a little squash too. If everything goes good I will have enough to feed the town cause I sure cant eat much. I saw on tv you can use straw bales and cut holes in them put potting soil and grow your plants. It will already be mulched and hold water and look pretty good too. It sure should save on the weeding too, The sunflowers shade out the weeds pretty good too and I will have to reach high to pick my beans. I wont get any sunflower seed as the goldfinches will eat them up but I sure like to watch the goldfinches they are so pretty, I just plant the nastursiums cause they keep the bugs away from my veggies and they do look nice too,

I live in a cold climate so growing season is pretty short...but...I love to grow (or should I say this is what WILL grow on my land) lillies, dahlias, sunflowers, and any annual that I have good luck with over the years. I experiment every year. I try to have a veggie garden every year but time doesn't always allow. Funny how the weeds thrive without so much as a little love and care.....C/

I bought my place in september and I would describe my land as nothing short of a disaster. I have a master plan but it is about a ten year one. This year I will put pumpkins and cucumbers in the ground. That will be about it for this year. Take care Scott

Scott Where is Gales Falls? I grew up in Milford down on the sound. Connecticut has gotton so very very expensive. When we bought our propery here it was an overgrown nightmare. But over the past 7 years we have worked away at it. I found that by dividing it into "rooms" you can actually complete a project without feeling so very overwhelmed.

Gales Ferry is a subsection of Ledyard. I am between the two casinos and perhaps 6-8 miles from the sound. I like the room idea because it is very overwhelming. Scott
