If they cause that much problem, I wouldn't suffer with them.  Drink things like chicken or beef broth.  I am allowed ANY liquid after a fill.

thanks for the help.  I will try your surgestions.  When they first started 7 days after the surgury we weren't sure if it was the drink  they took me off of drink and vitamens and but me on soft foods but now that I was back to drinking the drink and the hives came back we know for sure it is the protein drink I was hoping for other "ideas" and you all have helped.  thanks

I have never had a allergic reaction to food befor or now this is the only time I get an allergic reaction.  Maybe because I am consuming in 2x a day for more the 2 days

I'm by no means a nurse or doc... but I know that people develope allergies, we're not born with them. Case in point, my mother has loved strawberries her entire life and would eat them with no problems.. in her late 40's she would develope a rash after eating them. Now in her late 50's if she accidently eats them she cannot go far from her bathroom for about 24 hours. Same thing happens with macadamia nuts.

Some people have a sensativity to certain foods and "non foods" such as artificial sugar. While it may not be a full blown allergy it does sometimes cause discomfort or hives. Friend of mine cannot have artificial sweetners of any kind.

Just going from experience with my family and good friends who've experienced similar to what you're reporting.
