Cardio or Weights?

Nikki,
I teach a very introductory health and wellness class at a community college and I can tell you that the recommendation is 150 minutes per week of cardio and doing weights twice per week.  You can do all this with 30 minutes of exercise per day or any other way that you'd like.  This is recommended for all Americans to have good heatlh.  In order to lose weight, it is 300 minutes of cardio per week and/or reduction in caloric intake.
You can find similiar recommendations from all kinds of reputable sources, but they are really all about the same and they do say that it's best to do both.
Congrats on your exercise regimen!  I too lost my weight through diet intitally, but now, two plus years out, I am doing the exercise part of begin healthy.  I could only do one thing at a time!
Continued success to us all!
