Head Pain and Lap Band

Has anyone ever experienced head pain with the Lap Band.  I think my band is too tight but lately I am having discomfort where the band is, along with acid reflux and I get stopped up very frequently.  I have a doctors appointment today to see if I should have some fluid taken out of the band.

Do you mean like a headache or face/jaw?

More like a headache.  I'll swallow food, feel a tremendous amount of pressure then I'll get a shooting pain up to my head.

Get ALL the fluid out of your band.

I'll bring that up at the appointment.  Just out of curiosity, why do you recommend a complete unfill?

Because your band is creating a high pressure zone in your esophagus and it is only going to become worse. Best to empty it and give it time to heal. If it starts tightening up when it's empty, then it's time to have it removed.

Please read this, and click on the link in my siggy. You will be able to read about countless others with the same tightening problems.

That makes sense to me, a couple of weeks ago, I felt like was having pain all throughout my esophagus in addition to the acid reflux.

It's crazy what happens to us after we get banded.

I agree...you need an Esophogram and unfill ASAP.  Your doc will probably insist on it..

Thank you both for the good advice.  I'm looking forward to seeing the doc today especially since I'm kind of getting into a funk where I miss eating without discomfort.
