Donuts everywhere!!!!!

National donut day is in full swing here at my work!!! A co-worker passed by my office with a chocolate covered donut and we looked at each other and laughed and I said at least let me smell it. So, he brought it over and I a gave a big woof and all I could smell was GREASE!! Kind of grossed me out to be honest so it's amazing how a few short weeks can change things. The old Stoney would snarf down about 3 or 4 of those bad boys but not this new one. I'm so full from some cottage cheese from breakfast a donut never even sounded good.

 Body Glide and Chamoise Butter my Friend!

My TriSuit has a decent and soft padd and my seat has a decent fit. I did a 43 mile ride couple weeks ago with no soreness.  My main source of soreness will be from my legs and shoulders.  I am thinking a should finish in the 7 hour time frame.  So I will be tired and hungry!

Based on my training numbers I will burn around 8000 calories and take in probably 2000 all from energy gels or chews.

Man, it's crazy to see where you were to what you are getting ready to do! Deffinately inspiring! Have you seen this months real sports on HBO? It has a fireman that got run over by a bus and how he has come back from being really messed up and completing the ironman. Just a great story if you can catch it.

Great article!!! I was a good athlete into my late 20's being lean and strong so I know the feeling but wonder if I can regain just a portion of that and then I read your story and all the great inspiring stories on here and start to think I can if I want to. Just need to put my head down and move forward one day at a time.

 you are more than capable of accomplishing things that today or previously seemed impossible.  For many of us it started with wanting to finish a 5K and well the rest is history.

So how do you accomplish your own great story?

1) Set your goal
2) Work towards you goal
3) Give everything to achieving your goal
4) Relish in the victory and move on to the next goal.

Life is about reaching goals not a number on the scale.  The numbers I worry about are the distance traveled as displyed on my garmin, the total distance until finished, My pace, my finish time.

Find a goal and set it.  Then join us on the Exercise and Fitness Forum to stay accountable.

Thanks for the input! I think some of your best advice is to have that next goal set up and ready to go for so you don't spend too much time celebrating the first achievement. Always moving forward is the key. You got me pumped for my weekend workouts!!!

Well, in my day I was one of the best benchwarmers my high school had ever seen....

In my last year of varsity football, I started on ST...kick return coverage (blocking)...sadly, that was also the last time that I was in decent shape...

I don't believe I'm the running/triathlon kind of guy (then again, I'm not sure anyone thinks he/she is until the challenge is taken and the results known)...but I will be learning TKD at some point...

Weight at Heaviest: 320 lbs. 
Weight at Surgery:
283.6 lbs.
