 Good afternoon,

I have a question about Hair loss. At my education class the other day they said there could be possible hair loss. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that has Tyroid and well if you do have it then you know that you lose your hair as well.

WHAT MY QUESITON IS....WOULD YOU LOSE OR HAVE YOU LOST WAY MORE HAIR HAVING TYROID PLUS THE LOSS OF HAIR FROM THE SURGERY?

Thanks in advance for reading my post

You definitely will lose your hair about 3 or 4 mths after surgery - start to take biotin with your multi vitiams it will try not to fall out as much! I also have a tyroid and I did also and am still osing hair but since I started taking biotin its not as bad - it will eventually stop to fall out and will grow back - but until then see if you can take biotin!! I only take 1 a day along with my multivitiams!

My hair is also very fine and have bald patches cause I also have PCOS!!!
Good luck to you!

How much biotin is needed to prevent hair loss?  Does that correspond to the usual dose described on the bottle?

It doesn't prevent hair loss.  Nothing does.  It *can* promote hair regrowth.

I am pre op but I am hypothyriod as well. As long as my levels are good I don't lose more than the normal person so it should be the same as other post op for hair loss?????

I would imagine so.  I wasn't hypothyroid, lost 60% of my hair, and it all grew back in time.

I guess hair loss is a small price to pay for better health. Just when I was letting it grow again.
Oh well change is good.

Yep :)  I've been growing mine for over 2 years to donate to cancer.  Going for a consult this week to figure out what I'm doing with the leftover - better be cute! lol

Thankfully my hair was very thick to begin with.  Got a different cut so it was less visable and waited it out! lol
