Surgery was on Sept 27th and the surgery went very well.  However, on the evening of day 2, I couldn't sit up without passing out and my blood pressure was dropping so quickly that medical staff were afraid that I might go into a coma.  That evening I received two blood transfusions and my blood pressure started to increase.  My hemoglobin levels were very low (even after the transfusion) so they knew that I was bleeding internally.  Once I had my first bowel movement it was evident where the bled was.

On the third day, I received 2 more transfusions and luckily the bled started to heal on it's own and I was discharged Saturday.

It was pretty scary but I am slowly regaining my strength and on the road to recovery.

So sorry to hear that, I also had 2 blood transfusions and stayed in the hospital for 8 days. I am now 7 weeks out and feel great!
Don't overdo things because you will need more rest than the average person (as advised by my Dr.)
Take care,
Jackie

Internal bleeding is one of the most common complication (according to my surgeon).  A transfusion is only needed if you're bleeding quicker then your blood can repleni****self.

Hey Lucy, wow that was scary about an internal bleed.  Glad to hear you are on the mend though.

Every day will get better and better.  You will go from strength to strength.

Take care,

Judy
